Welcome to Rickyshoots Website/Online Gallery. Here is a brief bio about my journey! I’ve been living in California for about 10 years now. When I made the move to California it was for BMX purposes only. I have been riding BMX bikes for 19 years and professionally for 14 years. I’m originally from Tennessee and I needed to try something new. So, I left my hometown and headed west. I struggled finding places to crash during the first part of my journey. I stayed dedicated to my passion and finally landed several solid gigs doing BMX shows. From there I began traveling to countries all across the world for BMX and to enjoy life! Once I settled down in Southern California I started meeting new people and learning new things. About five years ago I was riding the Sheep Hills BMX jumps and I met Robbie Crawford who was there shooting some video footage of the jumps. He ended up inviting me to The Wedge …a famous wave break in Orange County.. to shoot with my GoPro. I instantly fell in love with the water and the waves, especially that particular spot because it’s such a challenge. From that day on I have been capturing every moment possible in the water, almost non-stop for the last five years. I keep my photography almost 100% ocean based including: waves, sea creatures, piers and various ocean activities! I still enjoy my hobby and I hope to continue this journey for the rest of my life, sharing something that I have a huge passion for and to help everyone see the hidden wonders of the ocean. You never know which way the water is going to move! Thank you for visiting! Enjoy my gallery! If you want to know more or have any questions, feel free to email me.
